Effective February 2, 2026, Crunchyroll has increased U.S. subscription prices across all three tiers, with the entry-level "Fan" plan rising to $9.99/month, making it more expensive than Netflix's standard ad-supported tier. 

New, higher rates are: Fan ($9.99), Mega Fan ($13.99), and Ultimate Fan ($17.99). 


Key Details on Price Hike:

New Rates (U.S.): The "Fan" tier increased from $7.99 to $9.99, "Mega Fan" from $11.99 to $13.99, and "Ultimate Fan" from $15.99 to $17.99.

Effective Dates: The new pricing applies immediately to new users, with existing subscribers seeing the change on or after March 4, 2026.

Justification: Crunchyroll cites platform improvements, including, for the first time, offline viewing for the base Fan tier, plus additional profile options and skip-intro features.

Comparison: The $9.99/month, ad-free,, entry-level, Fan tier now exceeds the price of Netflix's cheapest, ad-supported plan. 

For reference...This is the first time the Fan tier has seen a price increase since 2019.
