Imagine a character who's a fully grown man with a funky hairstyle. Probably roughly in his thirties. Pinkish pale skin tone. Has a funny sounding voice, goes above and beyond to be a positive role model and good influence to any and every child he encounters as though he was the father they deserve and need instead of the one they want. Sometimes the lessons are scary. Sometimes they're chaotic and messy but they're always for the better of the children. And can be an absolute badass when the need arises for it as well as an absolute goofball at times too. Very talented and a beacon of his community even when some others get jealous of it. 

You probably are thinking I'm talking about "Great teacher Onozuka" but no I'm reffering to "Uncle Grandpa" instead. So outside of the weird title and animation style differences why is one hated while the other isn't?
