Shonen for newbies

I am getting my comic only friend into anime. What’s a good shonen to start with?

Could my anime fans recommend some shows to me?

I like isekai, psychological thrillers, and epic war animes. Not a huge fan of shonen (I get tired of the "I must get stronger animes").

Any recommendations for reading manga?

I haven't read manga in a while and I want to see if you recommend any manga, I've already read a lot of shonen style, I need to catch up on Black Clover and Iruma.

Anime Hot Takes

1. Ichigo is the best mc in the big 3. 2. Movies are better than anime. 3. Jjk is in Top 10 shonen oat and the GOAT of modern shonen. 4. Vinland saga is a way better anime than frieren 5. Dorohedoro is the most underrated ongoing anime 6. Demon slayer and mha are 3/5 anime 7. Lelouch is the… (edited) read more

Anime standards

Watched so much anime that my standards are somewhere between a wholesome slice-of-life and a shonen protagonist.

I thought I liked anime until I came here

only seeing posts about shonen and isekai. I guess I don't like anime if I don't watch those??? Does no one here like weird Ikuhara stuff like Sarazanmai? I'm watching Sarazanmai right now and recently watched Hashire Melos since Satoshi Kon was on the staff. But it's weird, I don't even see… read more

Listened to the 90s women bands and still gives me very great vibes. Hole, Veruca Salt, The Breeders, Cranberries, Shonen Knife, Garbage....

Black Clover

Black Clovee is one of the best Shonen ever made!

Sailor Moon can beat Goku.

Shonen fan boys need to come to terms with this and watch a shoujo series already. lol

Who remembers this classic battle shonen???

I remember seeing this on toonami never finished it as a kid but it was sooo peak… these dudes were just throwing hand on sight no questions asked.. 😫😫 miss the mindless violence and straight aura farming of the past. Ughh wattba!!!

Anime Recommendation

Mob Psycho 100 seems to me one of the best stories I've seen and read in a long time. I started by watching the anime and couldn't help myself and read the manga; once I finished the anime, I went on a huge binge from start to finish of all 3 seasons, and damn, I felt so good about it. Plus, the… read more

RPG

What do you think about roleplayers that like fights? I have being studying about players archetypes And they are often separate in 3 main groups: * Who plays for battles * Who plays for stories * Who plays in a balance between both Recently I came to the conclusion I am the 3rd option. I thrive… (edited) read more

Anime recommendation

Can someone please recommend a good shonen anime?. Not the obvious ones but something that's less popular but really good nonetheless.

Recommend some shonen anime:^)

help

haven't watched anime in the LONGEST time. I actually love it but stopped watching for a while. call me basic, idc, but when it comes to shonen I like in the type of Naruto's. but if someone has a recommendation about a slice of life/angst/romance one like shigatsu was Kimi no uso, barakamon,… read more

Anime Recommendation (Insomniacs After School ✨🌙)

This is a slice of life, romance anime and I used watch Shonen, action, horror and fantasy anime back in the day when I was super into it. ESPECIALLY in high school 😂but I really liked this, the characters were so cute, can’t relate to insomnia at all but I had my fair share of staying up 💀 (edited)

Campfire Cooking in Another World

I've always been Shonen leaning, but here lately I am really into isekai. Starting episode 3 of this one, and enjoying it! The relationship between the grocer and the familiar is funny, but in a subtle way. Glad there's already a season 2 so I can binge happily 😊 Edit to say SUI IS SO CUTE 🥹 (edited)

New to anime

Been watching anime for a while now and need some recommendations, I like Shonen and obscure anime's 😊

I realised that latetely I watch shonen and got tired of it

I need a food for brain and soul, not just eye candy or basic moral conclusions, I wanna something that makes me question why, that makes me being surprised and come to new realisations, lately what I see it’s just a story with easy answers to easy questions, and I don’t blame it, it’s me who gets… read more

I need some Shonen anime to watch 😤🤌

Trigun

Who here has enjoyed the classic shonen jump anime Trigun?

The Dangers in My Heart

After rewatching Erased I stumbled across The Daners in My Heart. This is so cute and funny. About first love between the awkward, gloomy boy that wants to kill his classmates and the popular, dumb model girl. He's so self conscious about their developing friendship and she's unexpectedly shy. I… read more

Shonen anime/manga with the best developed themes?

I would say One Piece has consistently well developed themes around justice and the trade-offs of freedom. Either FMA or Attack on Titan would come in second (if it even still counts as shonen lol).

Best shonen?

I can’t include everything in 10 options 😅

All Time Favorite

GTO is my all time favorite manga. Not your typical nekketsu shonen. I think being shown the ugly side of japanese society is what made me love this title, and appreciate the culture even more. #GTO #Shonen (edited)

Gintama is best comedy shonen ever.

#funny #manga

I can't be the only one . . .

Where are my shojo reading/watching ladies and gents? I be feeling like the only one. It's a little awkward that I like a thing (anime/manga) that many people enjoy but, not the way that I do. Anyone feeling stories like My Little Monster, Kimi ni Tadoke, Ao Haru Ride, Nana, Princess Jellyfish,… (edited) read more

Need recommendations!

What’re you watching? I like horror, shonen and sports genres, but open to whatever. (Please no big name titles like One Piece, Naruto, JJK, etc…). Looking for those hidden gems.

Met gojo in japan

Met him at the shonen jump store in shibuya lol😂 he took a selfie with me.
