In my most recent previous life I was in a hell realm, and Vajrapani saved me.

Om Vajrapani Hum

Once upon a time there was a Chinese farmer whose horse ran away. That evening, all of his neighbours came around to commiserate. They said, “We are so sorry to hear your horse has run away. This is most unfortunate.” The farmer said, “Maybe.” The next day the horse came back bringing seven wild horses with it, and in the evening everybody came back and said, “Oh, isn’t that lucky. What a great turn of events. You now have eight horses!” The farmer again said, “Maybe.”

The following day his son tried to break one of the horses, and while riding it, he was thrown and broke his leg. The neighbours then said, “Oh dear, that’s too bad,” and the farmer responded, “Maybe.” The next day the conscription officers came around to conscript people into the army, and they rejected his son because he had a broken leg. Again all the neighbours came around and said, “Isn’t that great!” Again, he said, “Maybe.”

Buddhists believe the footprint at the top was left by Gautama Buddha during his third visit to Sri Lanka. It is seen as a sacred mark that shows his blessing to the country.
Because of this, Sri Pada is one of the most important pilgrimage places for Buddhists in Sri Lanka. Many people climb the mountain, especially during the pilgrimage season, to show respect, strengthen their faith, and gain spiritual merit.

Poson Poya Day is a Buddhist holiday celebrated in Sri Lanka, especially by the Sinhalese community. It marks the introduction of Buddhism to the island in the 3rd century BCE. According to tradition, this happened when a Buddhist monk named Arahat Mahinda from India visited Sri Lanka and preached the teachings of the Buddha to King Devanampiyatissa.

I have seen many people who were very strong physically, getting weaker day by day and finally they are very weak and can't do anything without others support. What I realized is IMPERMANENCE 😢

Avalokitesvara Monastery is one of the landmarks and icons of community diversity in Pematangsiantar City. The location of this monastery is the land that given by the King of Siantar to the Chinese people for a place of worship around 1920. 

Monk Dhyanavira took the initiative to build a statue of Goddess Kwan Im at the monastery location since 2000 and was inaugurated on 15 November 2005. This magnificent building in the courtyard of the monastery is claimed to be the largest statue of Goddess Kwan Im in Southeast Asia with a height of 22.8 metres which can be seen from a distance. The monastery also has a school and statues of the 12 shios.

The splendour of the Goddess Kwan Im statue has won an award from the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI). The statue of Goddess Kwan Im is made of rocks that are sculpted and done directly in China with about 3 (three) years. To bring it to Pematangsiantar it costs around 9 billion Rupiah. The stones that have been carved in China, brought then assembled and erected in the city of Pematangsiantar with special experts imported directly from China. 

The Goddess Kwan Im is also called Avalokitesvara, the same as the name of the monastery where this statue is located. Aval means hearing, lokite means world and svara means sound. Avalokitesvara means hearing the voice of the world. Avalokitesvara as per Buddhist beliefs means that his compassion will come and those in distress will be heard.
