Adult Coloring

Does anyone who uses colouring pencils find that they get quite sore fingers and maybe like and kind of like rough so patches is it better to use pens or or do I need some sort of grip? I’ve really started to do colouring in again and but every time I find that I need to put a plaster on just to protect and what is the best thing to do for long colouring in because I will be taking this on my moveto America. I think I’m gonna do it on the plane so is there any recommendations? Should I just not use colouring in pencils?
