I’m tired of being told to try harder to meet more people, attend more events, be more social as if effort comes with a guarantee. It doesn’t. More effort may improve the odds, but it doesn’t create the right connection.

What frustrates me even more is the suggestion that I should lower my standards or choose someone simply because they’re available. Available isn’t the same as compatible.
