As someone who was sexually assaulted and abused by an older woman in my adolescence, we NEED to start holding female predators more accountable for their actions. It bothers me so much that we still have this disgusting subculture of dudes going "oh that boy must have been lucky" whenever the victim is male.

We need to start holding female child predators accountable.

How can one find a serious relationship? It seems difficult.

there's a family story that some aunts (and my own mother) tell me, which says that my mother rejected a man from Puerto Rico to marry my father (who is Brazilian), which ends up being ironic because I'm a Brazilian who grew up without any contact with Hispanic culture until I became interested in Spanish on my own at age 8. Today, Spanish is one of my intense interests, and I love the culture not only of Puerto Rico but of several Hispanic countries. The lonely pain of being the only Brazilian in my circle who consumes something BEYOND Brazilian culture.

It is not my fault I havent found anyone worth chasing yet. It is not my fault nobody has shown me that it would be worth investing time and money into them. I dont bother anyone, am independent and shower up to three times a day. So why is it such a problem? Maybe this is just an American culture thing but am not sure.

I wish the stigma for single men would die already.

Had this accusation flung my way a few times and to answer:

1. I dont hate the gender/population that would be gender based discrimination: what I DO hate is the patriarchal systems that men both benefit and are harmed from also deeply harming women and other communities. I hate the toxic mindsets and behaviours these systems encourage. 

2. The man in my life is a great man just like other men in my life like my brothers and father: only a hit dog would holler so the men who get upset about my criticisms on their behaviour and unethical mindset- they are unfortunately the type of men who display those same traits. Whoops sorry for being the topic I guess hah.

Sometimes it really does take finding someone with the right capacity and character to complement your more challenging traits.

I’ve found that I sometimes intimidated people I went on dates with because of how intense I am. I’m constantly planning, financially strict, always studying and honestly, a bit of a workaholic. I keep my schedule full and I never stop reading people. By the time I entered the dating market, I already knew what I wanted and what kind of partner I was looking for, so dating was basically about figuring out whether someone met the criteria I needed. Invest or bow out.

I was told more than once that my traits were “too masculine,” that I came across as “too much,” “aggressive,” or “blunt,” and that it’d make dating harder for me.

But isn’t that kind of the point? It should be hard because the whole process is about filtering out who doesn’t fit with you. It is a challenge to yourself and to connecting with someone. A challenge that involves self discovery, discernment, growth and selectivity. 

I never liked the idea of softening myself just to be more appealing. Performing or appeasing for dating success isn’t success to me, it’s self-betrayal.

I’m loud, intense, assertive, ambitious, and unafraid to call out nonsense when I see it even if it costs me social points. Those are parts of me I love.
And I’m glad I never changed them, because they’re the same things my partner now loves about me.

Dating is supposed to be a challenge.

Or are societies riddled with learned helplessness? 

I have always been more on the optimistic side and highlighted the positives of life, but this trend is hard to ignore.

Many younger people (late millennials, Gen Z) have this sense of hopelessness and dread, they don't bother with anything "troublesome".

Jobs, housing, relationships, you name it.

They are not lazy. They simply don't see a scenario in which it works out. 

A massive change of outlook needs to occur, sadly the elites are not intent on making it better. We are in a Dark Age.

Is it just me...

Wild how empathy is now a concept scorn with skepticism and gets demonised so that beliefs and political movements can align with a moral narrative.

For me being woke means being delusional. Mental health should be promoted in a sense of wanting and getting help should be normalized, but making your fantasies and mental health vocal point of your personality should not be promoted because like fat positivity right now it causes more harm and nothing good.

I as an early zoomer don't understand later zoomers.
