I don't know how I feel. I'm a raging feminist when it comes to everybody but my boyfriend. I'm here cooking him a good-ass meal, and I'm conflicted because I love this man so much, but I'm going against what I used to be.

I used to think, "Oh my god, how could anybody be a housewife?" And now I'm being housewife material, and it's just strange.

Feminism strives to fight gender inequality, and advance women's rights. Feminism gets a bad reputation because some misandrists, take their personal hurts, and they join feminist movements to radicalize it into a "Man vs Women" gender war.

Men do not allow the bad apples to distort what feminism is about. Misandrists who try to latch on Feminism usually get ostracized for spreading hate and division.

It is a broad movement made up of many perspectives, priorities, and strategies. That diversity is one reason feminism has been influential, but it is also why disagreements often appear within the movement. Different feminists may agree on the goal of gender equality while disagreeing on how to reach it, what issues to prioritize, and whose experiences should be centered.

One major source of variation is history. Feminism has developed in waves and across different political, cultural, and social contexts, so it has never had just one voice. Earlier feminist movements often focused on legal rights and formal equality, while later movements expanded into issues such as workplace discrimination, reproductive rights, violence against women, and social expectations. As new generations of activists entered the conversation, they brought new concerns and methods.

Another reason for internal disagreement is that women and gender-diverse people do not all face the same challenges. Class, race, religion, sexuality, disability, nationality, and trans identity can change how sexism is experienced. This is why many feminists emphasize intersectionality, while others focus more narrowly on gender alone. When a movement tries to speak for such a wide range of people, disagreement about priorities is almost unavoidable.
