Take Me Back to Florence 🇮🇹

Throwback Thursday to Florence 🇮🇹 take me back 😭 What’s one place you’d go back to in a heartbeat?

Introduction

I’m Dorian — a writer, dreamer, and seeker who finds meaning in the spaces between light and ruin. Literature, art, and philosophy shape the way I see the world; everything feels like a metaphor waiting to unfold. I’m drawn to old stories and forgotten places, to myths that echo something I can’t… read more

Ugh. I miss Florence 🥺

Florence (& Pisa) , Italy 1946

So my dad was drafted in 1946. Hostilities had ceased. He was classified in Grave Registry, processing soldiers for transfer & interment stateside. Difficult no doubt. My dad grew up a farm poor boy. It didn’t bother him. That last profile pic of him is so odd, surreal. Why would he save it!

Love yourself. Forgive yourself. You can’t love and forgive other people, if you don’t, first of all, love and forgive yourself

Oregon Coast between Florence & Coos Bay. You gotta keep this Honda 125cc pinned so it stays in the powerband - but there's even a second powerband. If you've never ridden sand, then please make it a bucket list item! Higher cc bikes can do it with knobbies instead of paddle tires, but you'll be… read more

David by Michelangelo

Before Michelangelo set to work on it, the block of marble that became David was rejected by two previous artists, Agostino di Duccio and Antonio Rossellino, both had a go and decided it was too difficult to work with.
