On This Day in History - December 2, 1943
December 2, 1943 #OTD World War II: The Luftwaffe raided the harbor at Bari, Italy. A hit on an ammunition ship caused a massive explosion that did more damage than the actual raid. The American Liberty Ship John Harvey was carrying a classified cargo of mustard gas, to be used if the Germans initiated chemical warfare. The clouds from this caused extensive casualties, as no one knew it was there, much less had anything to treat it with.

The 9/11 story of Edna Cintron aka “The Waving Woman”
I’ve had a fascination with 9/11 for as long as I can remember and have done countless hours of research on it. Nothing haunts me more than the story of Edna Cintron though. Edna was was a 46 year old woman who worked on the 93rd floor of WTC Tower 1 on 9/11. She is the only known identified... read more

The first usage of the Arabic numerals in Europe!
In this manuscript from 1202 you can see the very first time the Arabic numerals were used in Europe, in a work by Fibonacci. A century later, they had almost completely replaced the roman ones, and 800 years later we still use them every day! #culture #numbers #history #classics #knowledge (edited)
