My Favourite Song Of All Times

Gesu no Kiwami Otome describes itself as "Progressive/Hip-Hop", and while I have close to no experience with either genre, that hasn't stopped me for being absolutely enamored by their music from the very first time I listened to them some years ago.

Rumily, as many other of their hits constantly keeps you on your toes with changes in the song's tempo, sometimes as delicate and cautious as if to pet a small animal that might run away with any sudden movements; others as abruptly as if the clouds suddenly closed an imaginary valve inside them and a fierce stormed suddenly stops as it was never there.

Both vocals and background in it's chorus remain forever calm, even in the most intense part of the song, they guide us through this ride firmly and steadily.

Piano, drums and base are, of course, on their own very high level, doing their individual magic each, and yet, everything harmonizes exceptionally well. Trying to focus on one instrument during a listen is both delightful, and difficult. As the other ones are always enticing you, calling for your attention.

And this is just one of their many, many great songs. I could go/listen for hours when it's about this band.
