I started my off grid adventure almost 2 years ago, and I don't regret it at all.

The homestead

I lived intentionally homeless for about 8 years. In a tent in the woods, a brief hike away from suburbia and civilization. I was not all the way off of the grid, still rather grid adjacent. But far enough in the woods that I was almost never worried about my  site being distributed, i was able to establish my own little territory. Using my phone,  i     searched for and downloaded schematics for different diy generator designs, water distillation systems, animal traps, i was even able to throw together an irrigation system running from a (relatively) nearby creek. But I was so freaking lonely. Unbelievably sooo.
And the struggles, enduring them with only one set of hands and eyes. Id go visit my friends out there liven the ratrace, and they would always say they envied my freedom and resilience. I would ask them to join me & They would say yes. But nobody would ever stay for more than a day. They hated it.  I loved it but for the loneliness.  happiest and loneliest i've ever been
