Guys, please tell me 😭 Is the Oscars open to the public, or is it only for certain people/actors? Please let me know, I’m genuinely just asking because I’m curious 😭

Anyone else excited for the Oscars?

The Academy Awards are this Sunday, and it is a while since I have been this excited for the awards (the last time was in 2023 and 2024; I didn't watch the ones from last year because I disliked the film that won Best Picture being Anora and wanted Dune: Part 2 to win, as well as Demi Moore to win… read more

First time at the Oscar's Museum

I've been wanting to go. Not a bad showing. Wish there was more.

I killed him for money - and a woman - and I didn't get the money and I didn't get the woman. Pretty, isn't it? Fred MacMurray (as Walter Neff) in Double Indemnity (1944).

It Was Just An Accident (Iran/ Farsi/ 2025)

You hear the footsteps and voice of a man who once tormented you in prison. Now, in one day, you go out to avenge. But for how long would you be able to take that step, and would that satisfy your ego forever? My favourite Iranian filmmaker, Jafar Panahi, does it again with his remarkable Palme… read more

I just watched Noah for the 1st time

It was good. I don't consider it the best movie I ever watched but I still liked it enough to consider it my favorite movie directed by Darren Aronofsky (surpassing The Whale). I think Russel Crowe, Jennifer Connelly and Emma Watson shoud've been nominated for the Oscars for Best Actor, Best… read more

How did you feel when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock? (Context: Chris Rock was making a joke about Will Smith wife condition about her hair loss and Will Smith didn't like that so he slapped him and saying "keep my wife name out your f*@king mouth"

Hawaiian Joes

I hate sloppy Joes but my daughter wanted to try it. So I got a can of the sauce. These did slapped harder than Will Smith at the Oscars. Definitely had to tweak that metal tasting sauce with mustard, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, onion powder and pineapple juice! 9/10 because the provolone cheese… read more

Oppenheimer ✨

Oppenheimer is a masterclass in storytelling orchestrated by Christopher Nolan at his very best. Cillian Murphy's portrayal of Oppenheimer was nothing short of mesmerising. The screenplay is brilliant and nothing short of a Best Picture Oscars. Do you agree?

What's your take on the Will Smith vs Chris Rock?

Context: During the Oscars, Chris Rock joked about Jada starring in "G.I. Jane 2", apparently because her head is shaved. She didn't laugh at the joke. Jada has Alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that leads to her hair loss. Will Smith was triggered and slapped Chris Rock. Source: Video is all over… read more

What did EEAAO Taught You?

Oscars is coming in March, and I cant wait for Everything Everywhere All At Once to win their nominations, or else....😤 I learned how the portrayal of empathetic masculinity illustrated by the Daniels, has always been left behind by most stories. The typical Hero's Journey was undertaken by… read more

While Oppenheimer and Barbie get the buzz, don't overlook Poor Things. Great movie with Emma Stone! (edited)

Anyone seen Sword of the Stranger other than me?

It was Japan's entry for animation at the Oscars a long time ago. Everyone I show it to loves it. But I bring it up at various anime gatherings and everyone goes "Never heard of it." If Akira Kurosawa wrote an anime, this would be it. I'm not joking. Both dub and sub is great. Just watch it. (edited)
