If I don't take you and our talks seriously, know that I treat everyone the same way. Life online and life in real life are two different things. I'm not trusting, I'm not a dreamer, I don't build hopes and plans, I don't intend to waste time and my energy.. waste my real feelings or emotions here on the internet. If everything were real, yes, I would change my mind, yes, I would be kind, not cold. But as it stands, everything will only be perceived superficially. I'm lonely, and I'll remain lonely until everything is real, not just words and pretty pictures on the internet. I won't consider you a friend, I don't need online friends, so don't be offended if I ignore you, if I seem distant. 🫡

The fundamental thing that is responsible for all the problems in any type of a relationship is egocentricity. 

Egocentricity is a psychological phenomenon where we believe others think and feel just like we do. And we do this regardless of age. Although, it’s supposed to get better the older we get. But it varies from person to person. 

When we don’t understand that we project ourselves onto others, we necessarily can’t connect with others. A connection is build on knowing and understanding that others have their own experiences, and their own thoughts. And that, even though it might seem like we think alike, that is only on the surface. But below that, there are differences, sometimes so much of them that we are completely different people. 

This projection isn’t only for thoughts and emotions we don’t wanna experience, it’s for everything. Including how kind or empathetic others are. 

And because of all this, we live in a world that doesn’t exist. We live in a place that is only our own mind, and nothing outside of it exists. 

Egocentricity itself prevents us from meeting the basic human needs of others. Being seen, understood, appreciated for who we are, and loved.
