Hiking River Place Nature Trail

This is definitely one of the toughest hiking spots around here! I used to really struggle to finish this trail six years ago, but I’m super happy to say that it’s a total walk in the park for me now! 😊

My Tired Legs Deserve This!

After endless assaults, when your legs are about to give up and your energy is running low, suddenly the trail becomes flat! YAY! THANK YOU, LORD! A little break from all the climbing. My legs deserve this! Sometimes, even a short stretch of flat trail feels like a huge blessing!

Emory Peak, Big Bend National Park

On a whim, decided to go check out Big Bend National Park with a friend. Stayed in Chisos Basin, hiked the the Lost Mine trail, and the Emory Peak/South Rim trail. Total of 27 miles over two days, was a much needed getaway. Bonus Milky Way pic on the last slide. Thanks for looking! (edited)

Out on a trail, letting dogs run around and came by this stump covered in turkey tails and a crevice on the side making it look like a majestic cave.

Eating wintergreen berries in the forest 🌳 before the rains this morning.

If you come on a wandering with me and wintergreen graces the land we journey, I’m sure to invite you to at least smell a wintergreen leaf. Her leaves and berries are a most magical trail snack. Gaultheria procumbens…wintergreen…has become my most beloved little friend of the forest 🌲 understory.
