Do you think there should be regulations/policy on procreation, seeing as we have 8 billion people on the planet and resources are dwindling?

Life is not fair. And no two people are exactly equal in anything anyway. Sometimes you get what you deserve. Other times you don’t. And no one will ever make this world “fair” or “equal”.

@Matt Adkins not saying I'm the one being denied them. If you don't have the critical thinking skill to understand that you should reassess some of your life decisions that lead to that.

Why do we keep thinking the world will just supply resources to us every day as long as we live? Resources are finite guys, the sooner you realize it, the better. Not to burst bubbles here, but some point we will die out due to overpopulation. Our species has little to no predators. And if there were any, we'd just find a way to kill it off or just live longer somehow as we have been for years. But without anything to actively kill us off, we will outgrow the resources we have and perish. Just look at any species that had lived with "abundant resources" and nothing hunting them in history. You will see they died the same way almost every time. It's time to stop believing we can just do what we want and life will just give us what we ask for without consequences.

@Alana why not volunteer yourself and your family then? There are renewable and non renewable resources. Unlike animals humans are capable of using tools and technology to adapt. Overpopulation is just an ecofascist excuse to ask for genocide and massacres. If we took care of the planet and focused on using renewable resources everything would be sustainable. You don't care about what's good for "our species" you just see a dangling carrot and would rather take the easier option that offers more bloodshed, more theft, and more waste of resources because you'd rather everything else burn than systemically changing for the better.

Are you gonna say I'm a fan of teen pregnancies and against contraception just for being Christian too? I think overpopulation is a real thing and will happen eventually. Why do you think people over years have mentioned that we are using resources meant for more than what one planet can offer? Sure we can stand to use our resources better, and distribute them in a just manner. However, population does play a key role in it. Believe whatever makes you sleep better at night, but don't insinuate anything about my character when you know nothing about me. I never even did that to you, so you shouldn't do it to me.

@Alana I "assumed" you want massacre because you're arguing a belief system that exists solely for massacres. Everyone who cries about overpopulation does so to justify their solution; genocide. The Nazis argued it, Stalin argued it, and wouldn't ya know everyone else who's agenda is mass murder argues it. If your agenda isn't mass murder then you're extremely ignorant of what you're actually perposing. There's a reason why your school of thought is termed "ecofascism". You couldn't give me ONE ethical solution to overpopulation.

@Alana I'm not biased I'm educated. You're repeating rhetoric from a school of thought called "ecofascism". Ecofascism is the idea that something within the planet is unsustainable and ultimately the solution is to kill or sterilize groups of people, most often whatever groups the ecofascist dislikes. You've done an amazing job telling the world you believe the first half and now that you can't give me even one ethical solution you're only showing you fit the rest of the bill. There is no overpopulation; just extreme population density and improper use of resources.

@Dylan well I was gonna say educate people about the gravity of the issue, so that way people at least understand the fact that we are overpopulated and should do smtg about it. Again, I never said anything about killing others. You have made such a grand generalization because it sounds like you assume people are somehow all the same. I'm not claiming to have all the answers, and no amount of arguing will likely change either of our minds. So why not agree to disagree?

@Alana not really because if food and cost of living becomes too expensive people have less children. In the US about 50% of women will never have kids. That’s the trajectory we’re on. Women love work more than children now.

I like Nick Cannon but he doesnt need to be a father to that man children. Deep Ecology is a belief that the way himanities is reacting to the nature of our world is not susatianble and needs to change or we all will suffer the consaquences. There are a lot of areas to cover. Its not like a light switch and group mentality is completely different then a single mind. With global issues humanity needs to have a consensus on which way we should be focusing but that conflicts with those who have the power who will not relinquish their grasp even if it is to save the only planet we have.

Mostly I was look for popular opinion but thst was ab oversight on my part I should be ready to back what I say with at least a reference. But science does have its role in this, experts such as the EPA say due to the increase of population its making difficult for the sweage infrastructure to maintain the volume, especially when heavy rains systems roll through. Such as those huge hurricanes that came through a few years back. So becarefully when you drink from the tap might be drinking poop.

Hey @Kenny I just read what you were talking about raising education levels for women it lowers birthrates. Thank you I did not know that before.

@Bishop very often society thrives when you educate woman. It’s one of the most efficient ways to improve a community and push it into the next level. Surpressing women keeps your country/society very poor both in knowlegde, economy, environmental care, … Education is often a key to improve life quality in an area in so many ways. Dropping birth rates are a “side effect” as people in higher educated areas don’t have as many children.

So going back to the topic, that's not an global issue right now, as every country has their own regulations on that matter because every resource is owned by each one. Think on China for example, as they have a strict regulation for procreation. Or think on some European countries were they promote the procreation because they have so low numbers of births and fertility. Imo, I guess we don't need. Just because China has an overpopulation problem, and some other countries don't.
