A Taurus, a big old tree, and a little bit of magic

Hi, I’m a Taurus girl 🐂 born in the Year of the Rat. In Chinese astrology, my Day Master is 甲 — Yang Wood. A tall old tree. It grows slowly, but its roots run deep. The more I learn about it, the more I laugh, because that’s exactly who I am. I don’t rush. I stay. I’m honest, sometimes too… read more

Currently Reading Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation Vol. 2, some thoughts

Wei Wuxian may be peerless when it comes to Demonic Cultivation, but my God he's so clueless when it comes to how Lan Wangji feels about him! Lan Wangji will literally purposely put himself in a situation to be licked by Wei Wuxian, and Wei Wuxian is just like "huh, weird". So clueless!!

Been Reading Mo Dao Zu Shi Lately

I've been reading a lot of Mo Dao Zu Shi (aka Master of Demonic Cultivation) and have been loving it! I watched the donghua first, and I'm noticing that the animation toned down a lot of the explicit homosexual themes. Wei Wuxian is so sassy! I love him so much, and Lan Wangji is the perfect foil… read more

The missing soul of chat?

I’ve been trying to figure out why so many conversations on here feel like heavy lifting while others feel effortless. Why do people match but then give one-word answers and ask zero questions back? I realized it reminds me of the philosopher Martin Buber. He suggested that we often fall into… (edited) read more

Symbolism and meaning

The Japanese name for Mahito’s cursed technique is 無為転変 (Mui Tenpen), which is one of those phrases that requires a full paragraph of English to translate. 無為 (Mui) most likely refers to the concept of 'Wu Wei,' which is a Taoist concept that refers to two things: Idleness or indifference in… read more

Wu Wei Philosophy

Have you heard about Wu Wei? It is the ancient Chinese law of wisdom, which declares “inaction” as the fundamental value of being. In our materialistic, fast-paced society, this millennial-old philosophy can help you discover inner peace, establish a lost connection with nature, and eliminate all… read more

無為

The Chinese Zen concept of Wu Wei (無為), often translated as "non-action" or "effortless action," is a central tenet in Taoist philosophy and Zen Buddhism. It refers to a state of being where actions align seamlessly with the natural flow of life, without force or struggle. In Wu Wei, one achieves… read more

Possibly Scrapping Character Backstory

Can I get some feedback on this character background. Im not sure if its good. Im kinda iffy on it and it could just be me being iffy about my writing skills. Its Wuxia inspired story but doesnt align perfectly. Character's story: Yudo was born to a human mother and a dragon spirit father in a… read more

Something to evaluate

Who else is seeking a positive & relaxed lifestyle? Wu Wei concepts have been quite the aid as I wander aimlessly through the journey of life, I've got my eyes and mind open. I'd love to hear what motivates other people to find meaning in their own lives.
