I think relationship are really complex and people tend to end their relationship because its not that easy or they just don't work enough on it. This picture that books and movies or series draw us is just not reality, relationship are not meant to make us complete or are the ultimative goal in life.

I think this is very similar to the hedgehogs dilemma, where headgehogs move closer to each other for warmth but end up poking each other with their quills. It can be the same for humans but on an emotional level.

It really depends what a romantic relationship means to you and what you want from it, and realizing that what you think you want might not always be the thing you actually need.
