Equipment advice

Hey folks! I'm going rock climbin this weekend, and I'm hoping to get some advice for equipment for someone getting into boldering! Specifically, what should I look for in a pair of climbing shoes? Are there any brands I should look for or avoid?

Shoulder Pain

Is it just typical luck, that once I pay for 20 sessions in advance, I trap a nerve in my shoulder and can't climb? Maybe I pushed a little too hard climbing and at the gym and I just need to rest. Need to recover and strengthen what seems to be a past injury, any advice welcome.
