Daydreaming Community

So I have MD (in both senses) pretty badly. For those who don’t know what it is it’s a disorder where you retreat into your kind and conjure a hyper realistic world where you live in, often moving on it’s own in my case. It’s essentially a defense mechanism. I like to think I’ve largely come over the negatives of this, I don’t require doing it as I did before, I can function without the need to retreat, but it’s still a large part of my life. Anyway that’s not the focus of the post. The focus is that after 3 ish years of having this story I finally decided to put a stamp on it and end it. Characters I grew attached too, the world and setting I knew, the world I left behind. I feel - alone? It’s not my only world, but it’s one I’ve shed tears, felt emotion toward, invested in. And now it’s gone. It’s an odd feeling. Feeling nostalgic for a place that doesn’t exist, or people who don’t exist. It’s a good thing though. My concentration has been slipping over the years, I can barely pay attention and it’s becoming harder to envision things, it’s mostly just blurs. Rest In Peace, to my wonderful, yet often scary, unfair and unpredictable world. May your adventures, loves, heartbreaks, victories, defeats, moments of joy, sadness, dullness, and everything inbetween rest. Thank you for years of comfort and joy. Countless pages written of notes, maps, and days filled wondering where the story will take me next.
