There’s still so many men that genuinely believe men are more logical and women more emotional. 

This is centuries old idea. I forget why it was created, but the idea itself is flawed. 

Not only is it flawed fundamentally, it’s also flawed to believe being logical = being practical or goal oriented. 

There’s a philosophical position called pragmatism, which basically asks “does this work?”, but this isn’t what being logical or rational means. Even logic and rationality are two different things.

If anything, I would strongly recommend people to look into actual philosophy, to even understand what all of it is and what it’s about. Because… there’s too much misconceptions and misunderstandings of all of it. And then people start believing in things that… just go against everything logical thought is even supposed to be.

This is actually sad…

I’ve heard this thought - memento Mori, you must die. But you must live! So add more life to your life.

And I do ponder, how does one do that? How do we add more life to our days? Especially when it’s mundane, repetitive and at times pointless?

It seems like every day, things steer away further from normal reality, I wonder if others feel this way or if this is just a creation of the prison within my mind.

I was thinking about how much energy people spend trying to be 'authentic.' Do you think we actually have one true core self, or are we just a collection of different versions of ourselves that change depending on who we're talking to?

Hume already argued that morality is unreasoned, it’s emotional responses. 

These emotional responses are our own biases, and other psychological needs ingrained in us so deeply, they are difficult to recognise.
It could be because we inherently have a need to be accepted, so we just adopt what we have been told, without any criticism whatsoever. Or it could be something else. 

To bring this back to the title…

As written, morality is unreasoned, so any rules we might adhere to, are based on our own needs, which in itself eliminates the emotional state of others, the rules can then be rationalised (psychological defence) to avoid our own discomfort, or simply believed in because that is what we have been told or because we believe it’s the right thing to do because everyone else does it too.  
So, whatever we would believe is right doesn’t include the consequences, but how we ourselves feel.

When we base our right and wrong on the lack of consideration for others, we can’t be trusted that the well being of others is relevant, or of any importance. And this will give others a sense of unworthiness. It can even be as severe as dehumanising others.

If your morality isn’t guided by how others are affected, you can’t be trusted.
