A movie role that William Shatner and Tom Skerritt don't get really get enough credit for their performances. The sequel to Big Bad Mama that came out in 1987 was also good but had two different female actresses playing the daughters. Here's the premise of the movie: Set in 1932 during the… (edited) read more

Has anyone watched this series? I don't know why took me so long to do it, but very happy I did. The story of the Poet Emily Elizabeth Dickinson (with little poetic freedom) is so damn good, knowing about her and how she wanted to understand why women were not free and were dependent of a man, is… (edited) read more

Day by day feeling like I'm somewhere becoming a tragic terrified version of Emily Dickinson. *Opinions are like onions never enough never know when they'll tear you down to your skin keep them ar boundries and accept only the ones tht means empathy and not sympathy. (edited)
The Judge is like the Owl - I’ve heard my Father tell - And Owls do build in Oaks - So here’s an Amber Sill - That slanted in my Path - When going to the Barn - And if it serve You for a House - Itself is not in vain - About the price - ’tis small - I only ask a Tune At Midnight - Let the Owl… read more

I should not dare to leave My friend by Emily Dickinson (edited)

It is very likely Emily Dickinson was in love with her sister-in-law Sarah Gilbert Dickinson. Sarah's husband, Austin Dickinson would later cheat on Sarah with a woman named Mabel Lee Todd. Todd ended up editing Emily Dickinson's poems after her death. Yes, history is a soap opera.

I went out with this girl that told me how Emily Dickinson changed her life and how inspirational she is to women all over the world. Tight. She also mentioned "Dickinson only got famous after she died." And I said "oh. Kinda like dinosaurs."

I’m Nobody! Who are you? Are you – Nobody – too? Then there’s a pair of us! Don't tell! they'd advertise – you know! How dreary – to be – Somebody! How public – like a Frog – To tell one’s name – the livelong June – To an admiring Bog!
Emily Dickinson was before her time. She knew it and did everything she could to make her mark nonetheless.

"I would nestle close to your warm heart… Is there any room there for me, or shall I wander away all homeless and alone?" ~ Emily Dickinson in love letter to Susan Gilbert

I am a Maiden fan and it's honestly kind of disappointing to hear their new material Steve Harris was one of my favorite bass players and Bruce Dickinson went from sounding like an area siren piercing the night to a worn out foghorn the dude is a badass but I feel like he needs to retire he's done… read more
We never know how high we are ~ Till we are called to rise. Then if we are true to plan ~ Our statures touch the skies. The heroism we recite would be a daily thing ~ Did not ourselves the cubits warp ~ For fear to be a King.

For fellow fans of Iron Maiden, what’s your favorite song? Mine is a toss up between “still life” and “writing on the wall” lately. Only disappointing song for me is “back in the village” At any rate, to my fellow maiden fans, may Dickinson vocals fire up your day.
No body writes books like Charles Dickinson. He knows how to write tragic heroes and one of the best is Sydney Carton. As he has unrequited love, self destructiveness, and is deeply romantic but this is concealed by a cynical veneer. In the end though he reveals he is honorable. What are some of… read more
