I love to keep count of my "net lives", and try to make sure more dwarves are born than killed

I have a thing for making taverns inside of waterfalls

I have been having bad luck with my fortresses recently so having taverns that make visitors really happy have been my primary way of recruiting new people. Does anyone else have fun tricks that they like to do with taverns? (edited)
