June 24, 1940 OTD World War II: Operation Fish British Royal Navy cruiser HMS Emerald (Pictured) sailed from Greenock (Scotland) in convoy for Halifax, Nova Scotia (arrived July 1), carrying a large part of the gold reserves of the United Kingdom and securities for safe keeping in Canada.

The setting sun over foggy Halifax, NS. We'd gone on a Harbour tour and spent the day going at a leisurely pace up and then back down the length of the Harbour, and caught this dreamy sunset through the evening fog that was rolling in.
