The gloves my great grandfather wore in WW2 on two fronts.
I have a collection of papers and images of my great grandfather when he was in WW2, but this is the first physical thing that has been gifted to me. The gloves Roland wore the entire time he was at war. He was a semi literate poor kid in Texas but when when we were attacked by the Japanese, he answered the call and served with honor(aside from a few love interests hahaha).

The 9/11 story of Edna Cintron aka “The Waving Woman”
I’ve had a fascination with 9/11 for as long as I can remember and have done countless hours of research on it. Nothing haunts me more than the story of Edna Cintron though. Edna was was a 46 year old woman who worked on the 93rd floor of WTC Tower 1 on 9/11. She is the only known identified... read more

What figure do you respect/look up to the most from history?
For me it's Albert the first of Belgium. He was the last king/major political ruler to lead his troops into battle at the front. The long line of tradition in Europe of having the leader of the country also being the frontman in the army. He volunteered in WW1 along side his countrymen to push back... read more

The Great Meteor Shower of 1833 💫✨️☄️
It was a night of 100,000 meteors. The Great Meteor Storm of 1833 was perhaps the most impressive meteor event in recent history. Best visible over eastern North America during the pre-dawn hours of November 13, many people, including a young Abraham Lincoln, were woken up to see the sky erupt in... read more

The first usage of the Arabic numerals in Europe!
In this manuscript from 1202 you can see the very first time the Arabic numerals were used in Europe, in a work by Fibonacci. A century later, they had almost completely replaced the roman ones, and 800 years later we still use them every day! #culture #numbers #history #classics #knowledge (edited)
