This month started with Napalm Death, follow by a festival filled with percussion quartets, next another metal show, then a jazz festival, then psycho-billy, and finally some experimental punk. If I don't find something for the last week of June.
The road goes on ahead of me and then—without ceremony—withdraws. It does not end; it simply dissolves into a pale conspiracy of fog and grey sky, as though the world were shy of its own continuance. I walk toward that vanishing point with the quiet obedience of a man who has accepted that… read more
The early encroachment of darkness arrived hand in hand with the naked black fingers of the tree limbs. Those fingers married to the unmuffled wind which now gasped and screamed in fits of vitality (like some terrified animal fighting a trap) as it scraped itself across the frigid concrete and… read more
It’s time we changed our mindset and finally appreciate these tiny overachievers—the bugs. Creatures with outrageous stamina, zero work-life balance, and a level of commitment to their craft that would put most of us to shame. Homegrown artists, sacrificing their short, dramatic lives for one… read more

I listen to a lot of music but my friends specifically called me out on listening to plain drum percussion, mainly in jazz and rock. I don't know why I like it but it sorta puts me in a transe. Overall I like listening to plain single intrument music but am I weird?
It sounds boring to me, what does it need... Aside from true percussion? Thanks Words are arrangement are just off the top. btw

Slowly coming together...so...slowly... 😆 I'm still newish to Pro Tools, and I spent like 4 hours trying to figure out why I couldn't get a percussion track working. Troubleshooting, watching videos, downloading new plug-ins, nothing worked. Then, I just try it on a new track, and it works… read more

I'm not one to review albums. I feel music and people's interpretation of it is so extremely subjective, I find little point. Not only can I not relate to you, despite the power of language, how the album actually sounds, but I can't express how it will make you feel, on account of I'm not you.… read more
The sky is singing a good song today. It was a soft shower. I couldn't hear the percussion of the window but I can see the rain try.

The wind had been yowling against the siding all night, as if the whole house had offended it. Somewhere out there, a branch played percussion against the windowpane—tap, scrape, screech, tap. I’d decided to let it be the soundtrack to my evening and put Madness on in the background. “Night Boat to… (edited) read more
There’s a fine line between love and destruction, and in the sleepy city of Sunderland, that line is as blurred as the horizon on a foggy morning.
