I was playing chess with a savant and he decided to pull the forbidden 8 bear defense. Had I been a lesser man I’d have forfeit, but I am not the lesser man I once was, so from the bushes came 16 bears to make my 16 BEAR DEFENSE, sun tsu once said “Don’t lose because losing is kind of cringe and you don’t wanna be cringe” and I live by that quote daily.

A question for chess players:

Sick lazy chess lost my Queen 💀

Went to the tavern where the owner is a friend of mine. Surprisingly he wasn't working that day, so we could finally have a round of chess. I seldom play, but I enjoy it every time. Managed a stalemate against him and another stalemate against someone else. Drunk chess is something else.

Edit: I love mead, though I drink it without water. Don't do that if you're not Romanian or Russian.

Dropped from 1900 down to 1700, now I'm clawing to recover 😔 I just got to stop after two blunders to get out of blunder mindset. I don't know how chess players can keep such intense concentration for so long 😱

I failed this puzzle because I thought the queen sacrifice was too good to be true. But i should've realised queen sacrifice was indeed the way because f8 f7 escape squares hinder checkmate. But queen sacrifice is not the only gambit, the pawn promotion is also being sacrificed too. Furthermore, i thought there may be discovered check leading to pawn promotion; but then there's no way to hold on to the promoted pawn. I should've trusted my gut instinct

Sure, just a knight bishop exchange, but at least I removed the opponent's castling while achieving castling myself. And light squared bishop is removed making h1 safe. Also I might be able to pin both Nd7 and Be7 to dxc5, then retreat Bf3?
