That's my rating as beginner

I failed this puzzle because I thought the queen sacrifice was too good to be true. But i should've realised queen sacrifice was indeed the way because f8 f7 escape squares hinder checkmate. But queen sacrifice is not the only gambit, the pawn promotion is also being sacrificed too. Furthermore, i thought there may be discovered check leading to pawn promotion; but then there's no way to hold on to the promoted pawn. I should've trusted my gut instinct

This puzzle is great because d7 e8 are controlled, e6 defends RxBf7, but Be7 is pinned so NxRf8 is free. However, blocking Rd1+ with Bd7 frees Kc8 escape, so a juicy juicer sacrifice will tempt a blunder. After BxBe7, Kc8 is still available, then exBd7+ (not RxBd7) forces Kb8, p=Qd8+ RxQd8, RxRd8#.

Earlier today, I was playing GNOME Chess with my opponent played by GNU Chess and I unexpectedly got this message. It made me ponder: which is more satisfying: winning by checkmate or winning by confusing your opponent. I'm not entirely sure which is more satisfying, but there is a nice appeal to confusing one's opponent.

Today's chess puzzle is good because you can't c3 Qb5, Qb4 in time. Rh4+ is easily blocked by d4 or e4. So only Kd2 creates the opportunity in time for Ra1#

I wrote enjoyed today's puzzle, i was forced to think about counter threats against me. I dunno why i didn't see the forking check. Luckily I chose to capture with my fatty for discovered attack on their fatty when sacrificing the pony to check the chicken

Fixating your candidates maybe a sign of laziness, yes your more powerful pieces are more effective; but avoid eliminating weaker pieces as candidate moves, otherwise you only can blunder. Consider calculating with other pieces. Fair enough I have a headache and ruined my streak by blundering under time pressure. I prefer lichess because puzzles are unlimited and without time pressure.
