The smog, a spectral veil woven by Taal Volcano's fiery breath, shrouds the land in a darkness that transcends mere obscurity. It's a darkness both eerie and ominous, a shiver down the spine — an ominous presence that claws at the lungs, making every breath a haunting reminder of nature's volatile power.

In year 2019, i got a chance to visit this beautiful masterpiece called Mayon Volcano 🌋 in Albay, Philippines 

Mayon is considered to have the world's most perfectly formed cone due to its symmetry, which was formed through layers of pyroclastic and lava flows from past eruptions and erosion.

The story begins with in the village of Ibalon, there was a beautiful lady named Daragang Magayon (means Beautiful Maiden), the only child of the chieftain of their tribe, she has beautiful hair, fair-skinned, eyes like a diamond of the stars, many men desired her but only Pagtuga who was truly obsessed by her beauty, the chief wanted her daughter to be marry by a suitor only in their village but no one but her father forbade her, because Pagaronon is not from part from their village, he chose Pagtuga over Pagaronon for their marriage, she refused. But to free her father to marry him, in order to keep Pagaronon safe from Pagtuga, on the day of their wedding. Pagaronon and his tribes stormed in, the battle was shook, clashing with their swords, one by one they were all killed shot him with a poison arrow and fell on her, Pagaronon saw her once more in his dying breath til he died in her arms. No men that Magayon decided to chose, later that night, when she was go the river for a bath, there was a young man saw her and follows her seeing her washed and bath in the waters of the river, he never saw any girls who had the same beauty like Magayon. On her way back after she washed, she slipped and fell, nearly drowned, he jumped into her and saved her. Magayon thanked him for saving her life and she asked him for a name, his name was Pagaronon, days after days after the incident. They were so close to each other and fell in love, as she go to introduce him from her village and ask him that he is the one to marry her. Because of refusal, Pagtuga planned to kidnap the chief in order to get rid of Pagaronon to Magayon. For the sake of her father’s life, Magayon decided to marry Pagtuga to release her father, Pagaronon resisted, she had no other choice. Until Pagaronon finally killed Pagtuga, with a happy reunion, she ran happily towards Pagaronon but one of Pagtuga’s last warrior. Within Magayon’s grief, she cannot leave without him, she decided to kill herself using Pagaronon’s dagger and she died while carrying him in her arms. The chief knew what happened, in his sadness, he buried his only child and Pagaronon beside her so that they won’t be separated. Years later, their final resting place grew higher and higher and higher from the sky, people of Ibalon saw it where Daragang Magayon and Pagaronon were buried, the people named it Mayon, name after beautiful lady from the village. Until now, the legend happens when Pagaronon and Pagtuga fights for Magayon when the Mayon starts to erup. Even when the rain falls, it was her tears when she held Pagaronon’s lifeless body.
