Anyone else out there that doesn't like horror movies?

I just genuinely don't understand the interest in watching something that will scare you

I used to not like them. It became a matter of finding the one’s that were right for me. I like old Universal and Hammer Horror films. They creep me out rather than actually scare me. I view it more as a suspense thing. About the only newer Horror Movie I like is Scream and that’s because it’s pretty much a parody I can laugh at.

I like some, older ones especially like the hammer film, cheesy as some may be. Slasher pics are boring as are most with pretty teens in. A good dark psychological thriller with twists and turns? Like those. Others like saw or Chucky or whatnot...meh not scary aside from the damn music and jump scares.

I don't watch a ton of horror, but when I do it's the fantasy/mystery elements that interest me. It also just doesn't scare me as much as it used to, but it's definitely not something you'd want to watch when you're not ready to handle that stress. I also wonder if it might help build tolerance to better handle scary things that come up in the real world.
