How does one earn awards on Boo?

I've seen them around. I have three. I do not know how or what to do to get them. My brain says I should try and collect them so I am here to ask how.

So I just made my account today and I'm curious about these rewards that I'm seeing. How do you get them? Are they purchased or gifted? And how many are there. I'm a pretty competitive person so I'm pretty curious. I couldn't seem to find any answers anywhere else.
