My son has been having problems in school after coming out at gay. He's been feeling down, so last week we both dyed our hair blue because it doesn't matter- no one who matters cares if you color you hair or be youself... I wanted to make sure he knew that.

This week I took him to his first legit barber visit. I let him know I would be to help talk to the barber if he got nervous, but this guy is legit cool af, and my son is getting the best haircut of his life using his own voice.

They drive me goddamn insane, but I just love that I get to watch them grow up, figure out what they like and dislike, what kind of people they want to be, and seeing them develop their own little habits. It’s a lot of fun to see the ways they are like me and their dad and where they’re their own people. I am excited to see what they wind up becoming as adults 😊

I sent my child on a trip with the school for a few days today, and it's quiet at home... and it seems like time to relax, but I'm worried about him.

Back when I was in school, we played this… straight lines only 🤣 If it were me going in, all those ropes would definitely get tangled around me. I’d probably get them wrapped around my neck and fall flat on my face 😂 Anyway, you all are really amazing.

I drove my kids to school this morning and when we got there, my son informed me that he actually forgot to put shoes on before getting into the car.

My son is 6. He is a super lovable, snuggly, unstoppable ball of pure chaotic energy. He has SO MANY IDEAS and enough energy to make all of them happen. RIGHT NOW. And if you don’t love ALL of his ideas, he will collapse into a supernova of angst and destroy you along with him. 

So he wants me to tuck him into bed. Very normal. Highlight of the night because he’s willingly going to bed and I get to plant a forehead kiss on this cute lil troublemaker.

And I go to tuck him in…

And I see that he has cut zigzags into his video game themed blanket that he begged me to get for him…

😐…

So I ask him “why did you do this?” And he immediately denies this and shoots back that he begged me to get that blanket, why would HE put scissors to it?! Maybe Mom did it actually! Why do YOU do it, Mom?!?

😑… I am not about to let this little fool gaslight me in my own house. So I pointed out to him that because he decided to spend his time choosing violence, now his beloved blanket is ruined. 

He gets all huffy and yells that I’m the worst mom ever how could a mom ruin something her son loves so much 😤😤 HARUMPH. And I end it - it’s bedtime, we are not arguing about who did it, it was very obviously you, young man, you need to sleep now. We will have to figure out what to do about this tomorrow.

10 minutes later, a tearful little boy runs into my room, confesses that he was holding the scissors he’s not supposed to have, and just needed to cut something, but the blanket was the only thing there and OH GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE 

After consoling him and pointing out that there is actually a way to pay attention to what your body is doing and choosing to stop it, I send him back to bed. With his cut up blanket. 😑

10 minutes later, a hyperventilating little boy, delirious with worry busts in because his stuffed pikachu isn’t in his room and he can’t find it ANYWHERE. So then, I go and look for his pikachu and lo - it was exactly where I said it was - on the floor in the car. He bawls because he’s so relieved that pikachu is safe and tells me I’m the best mom ever because I saved Pikachu from guaranteed death. 

So like, I don’t know what other parents are dealing with, but this individual has me STRESSED OUT 😂😂🥰😭
