Why do so many people not consider adoption?

This question is primarily for the women out there. People typically either look forward to having their own kids, or not having children altogether. I was NOT adopted, but with so many kids needing loving homes it kind of bothers me that so many people don't consider adopting. Part of my opinion on this matter is not just that there are kids needing adoption, but we have a population problem on our planet. Look up the environmental impact that having 1 child has on our planet--you might be surprised at what you find. Even the extremely eco conscious people seem to want "their own" children which I think is somewhat hypocritical. I'm confident I don't want children, which due to my age doesn't help my dating prospects, and I'm somewhat appalled at the idea of bringing more life into an increasingly hectic world. Lastly and probably most controversially, I deem this desire to have biological children largely selfish since it's pretty much a desire not a need. You can live out all the parenting fantasies (well maybe except the birth/infancy parts) with an adoped child.

Why don't you want kids?

As I have recently changed the profile preferences and added the option of profiles who ' Don't want kids', hundreds of new profiles started popping up. So here is my question. Why is the modern world full of people who don't want kids?

My sons first day of kindergarten is today right .... went there dropped him off did the normal parent thing .... gave him a hug in the library where all kids and parents were I look up .. see this blonde mumma looking at me like I stole something from her idk at this point i thought maybe her happiness 😅....walked out she was still giving filthy looks so I just : ehhhhh !!

At a clothes store looking at stuff see this girl 11 to 12 year old , walks up to a shirt she likes checks the price tag , 22$ ! When you have younger kids especially if you are outnumbered a good dog or 2 is essential they are like having extra parents around that you don't have to worry will try to sleep with your spouse (before you say it a well trained dog does not hump legs)
