Effetism, Hot Wheels, and Master Keys

They say confidence is key, but they never tell you which door it opens. Maybe if you have enough confidence, it becomes a master key capable of opening any door. I’m not that confident, so I’ll go through any door I manage to open. I’ve worked two shifts in my new job so far, with someone… (edited) read more

Somewhere, leaping across the comets, a lonely moon wanders, Shining as if a fist does not clench in pain, And I want to tell you how deeply tired I am, But not here, not now....

Gravity Of Us

Gravity of Us by Thomas Holmes Seven years ago, I left the rain behind— crossed mountains and memory, from Washington’s weeping skies to Wyoming’s endless breath of dust and sun. I came for love, for the promise of something eternal, for a man who spoke of stars and sanctuaries, of kingdoms built… read more

Fireworks, Family and Far Too Much Kopparberg

If you can't tell by now, I don’t really excel at looking forward — I tend to look back. With that in mind, let’s talk about last weekend, because it was a good one. After a week of waiting to hear about my start date for the new job (yes, I even texted to double-check I definitely passed the line… (edited) read more

Flying comets (Stardust Racers At Universal Epic Universe in Orlando Fl)

I got bored between calls this morning—so I wrote a decasyllabic multi-metered poem in the structure of a sonnet.

The breathless breath of a fallen star's glow; When I saw her, I found her—and I saw A winter's rain fall on summer sun's snow, On the earth, as steady as comets crawl. And what is one to think when Fall meets Spring? Leaping like a bird—from a leafless tree To fly through a blue sky, on moonlit… read more

I just learned about Aerogel

So apparently it's like a ghost like solid material that NASA uses (among multiple uses) to capture particles of comets for analysis. It also has insulating properties, aaaaand Neil deGrasse Tyson has a cube fill with it.

What is a fear unique to our time...

... that could be transliterated into a new movie monster? What scares you and how can we give it a shape or face? For example, with everyone in our time witnessing the decline of an empire and struggling to accept it, we could imagine an enormous sentient stone tower that continually rains… (edited) read more

What Saturn's Rings actually Looks like #SpacePorn

Saturn's rings are pieces of comets, asteroids, or shattered moons that broke up before they reached the planet, torn apart by Saturn's powerful gravity. They are made of billions of small chunks of ice and rock coated with other materials such as dust. (edited)

Big Dipper

When I was a kid, I had a book about greek mythology and constellations, but the place where I lived was very light polluted, so I couldn't see any stars. Nowadays, every time I see a constellation, it reminds of me how my mom used to tell me stories about gods and mortals, about stars and comets… read more

Jupiter

So ladies and gentlemen here I present to you the one and only, Jupiter. The next time you look up in the sky at night and see this, just remember that Jupiter saves earth from thousands of asteroids and comets by attracting them towards itself and that's how earth survives, that's how we survive. How was your evening, is the moon shining?..

*** I just wish he would write and just ask: - Baby, how are you, how was your evening, is the moon shining? (Saying "I missed you" is so much for him, but I wish in between all the other stuff he'd just quietly say. "Hey, I missed that weird, overly serious girl."). The world goes white. … (edited) read more

Day 239 of Year 3's Dancing Jeannie's Plethora of Hits - 1950s Rock Around The Clock Bill Haley & His Comets

The recent eclipse was the most amazing awe inspiring and humbling experience of my life.

I wasn't able to come online while it was happening, but it blew my mind! I've seen astrological events before. From meteor showers to comets in the sky for weeks. To space shuttles coming apart on reentry. This eclipse though it wasn't just seeing it. I could feel it. When it started getting dark.… read more

The Day the Sky Fell

The sky is slowly falling, The dawn is webbed with cracks, The splintered clouds are stalling, The weight breaking their backs. The shattered stars stare silent, Upon a broken moon, As comets hum a violent, Yet soft and steady tune. And Sister Sun is bleeding, The heavens, gold and red, Like… read more

The Silence

One of my poems

Which law do you abide by? the law of Love or the law of life. Love tells you to trust and to give yourself entirely to the process of love and the process of being in love.
