It is my understanding that the Angles and the Saxons were germanic people who came to England after the Romans left.

Since then, they have mixed with Celts, Scandinavians et plenty more due to the British Empire amongst other things. So it pisses me off when people call the English "Anglo-Saxons"! 🙄 Of course, the French started it! So I will now call the French "Gauls" 😂 (edited)
