Last summer days

Summer is almost over.. It doesn’t come as a surprise: the fall has been in the air for a while 🤷🏻‍♀️Today’s evening was so nice, that I spent it entirely on the water and near the water. It felt like a goodbye kiss from summer 😔 🌊👙⛱️🌊 🍉

I can’t remember the last time I was on the water this late. I finished my little trip at 9 pm. Evening kayaking can be amazing: watching sunset and all.. But I prefer mornings 🤷🏻‍♀️

Early bird 🐦‍⬛

This summer I took a habit to wake up as early as possible on days that are especially good for being out on the water. There was a day where I was ready in my kayak before 5 o’clock! This new habit brought me so many precious moments! This view is from today, just before the start of my trip.

Same day – different moods

Have been out and kayaking from early morning until lunch. Loved how the wind, the light and the waves kept changing, thus creating different nature moods!

Today was one of my best kayak mornings ever! The water was unbelievably still and transparent! Kattegat is a very special sea! It can behave like a lake – and like the North Sea! All alone I paddled to the bird island, to eat my breakfast and enjoy the nature’s glory. * no filter

The Windmill

There is something about that windmill, that makes me feel awe and a hint of fear. The structure is huge and on windy days the water around the mill often turns into a churning mess.

Heatwave

Denmark has also been hit by a heatwave!. But the temperatures are milder than in continental Europe – and the wind from the coast basically makes it pleasant. The beaches are crowded. The yachts are many. And I am especially glad for kayaking these days 🥹

I'm set to go, who's coming with?

Got my new crossbars that can handle over 300lbs. My new Js. Which the padding is too much and I already ripped it a little. I'll probably replace them or shave them down, or that'll happen with age. Who knows. Ai assisted in putting three on at once. Gone are the days when I had 5 kayaks laying… read more

Group trips or solo?

I realized that I appreciate both formats equally!! The first picture is from today’s group trip, where we shared coffee, snacks and good jokes on the bird island. The second one is from a relaxing solo trip: my secret little beach where I stop to bathe and have an ice coffee 🐚🌊☀️

Wind and waves

I was out with some clubmates today. Waves were really tall in some stretches of the route! Plus wind with strong gusts. Was that refreshing for a change? For sure. But for the time being I prefer calmer waters.

There are some things you learn best in calm and some in storms.

A Perfect Evening

One of those perfect days when everyone is out and about on the water!! The kayakers from all clubs, the rowers, those on little boats, the fishermen. And on top of that the rescue station training with boats and helicopters 🫶🌊🛶

Open House

It has been open house in our kayak club today 🌊🦀🦭🪸⛵️🦪🛶 And there will be another one on Thursday. So if you live in the North of Denmark, you are more than welcome!
