Logographic languages and dyslexia

I'm wondering how do people with dyslexia find languages where there are so many characters? Is it harder or easier compared to alphabet based ones? (edited)

My brother suffers from dyslexia. In sum, the sounds of a language don't register, so imagine that and the completely disassociating the sound or "grouping of sounds." I don't really think the two would differ. My brother did study with me on Japanese a bit and learned some Kanji, where he didn't correctly say some of the sounds on the Kanji characters.
