I used to work in a drive thru a long time ago. I locked eyes with this one woman. She and I couldn’t take our eyes off eachother. There was a special spark. She kept staring into my eyes as she drove away. It was incredible. I quickly walked out of the store to see if I could at least get her name and introduce myself but she was already gone. I don’t think I ever experienced that with anyone else. It was strange but till this day sometimes I wonder about it. I barely remember the face.

Whenever I think about distancing myself from people close to me, I start worrying that maybe I’ve hurt them or will end up hurting them. I replay what I said, wondering if I’ve caused pain without meaning to. But what I don’t often consider is the hurt I’ve been feeling, the pain I’ve been carrying because of them. I keep asking myself if I’m going to hurt them, but I’m constantly hurting too. It feels like I never prioritize my own feelings, and I don’t understand why I keep doing that.
