I'd like to tell you that the mole was discovered by an ornithologist. Square jaw clenched like the M and E on a handwritten poster too bold in its mission. Tracing his finger down my thighs for clues, he'd spot my mole and a Sylvia warbler. He'd call to the bird in the bird's native tongue. They'd chat for 10 minutes, or less, I don't really have the patience or passion for foreplay. Afterward, he'd remark that the mole looked remarkable. And that part would be as near to the truth as any of you deserve to get. - Brittany M Ortega
