How do you feel when a third generation American says that they are from other ethnicities? (Curious to read thoughts from US born citizens as well!)

Curious? Skeptic? Indifferent? My grandparents were from Spain and Trinidad and Tobago, yet I never even thought to identify myself as Spanish or Trinidadian.
