Hissy Missy is such a great eater. She has eaten for me every time. Her strike and coil is lightning fast.   This is a picture of her parents,  not her, but she will look like that when she's fully mature. She's on fuzzies currently and she has shed twice since i got her in May. Nocturnal. Good handleability. I only hold her every few days since she's still a sub adult. Females are larger than males. Looking forward to when she gets to full size.

I am so proud and excited. I cannot believe the odds on getting the gorgeous all pink one (I think it's a patternless Snow, but we can't know for sure with all of the genes going on with the pairing). 

They are so spicy and full of attitude and already had their first meals. I am SO proud!

Long Story short... Moxie, my Malaysian Cave Dweller, managed to escape his enclosure and I was praying and praying and crying hoping to find him until I promised the universe to get a gratitude tattoo if it would bring him back to me unharmed. 

He's been back for a while and only had a small little injury on his back (which has completely healed now). 

Tattoo is gonna take another session to finish, but I'm super happy with what I've got so far!

What snake?

I've raised Taco, my female, since she was a tiny little hatchling and last week we got our first confirmed lock with her male, BBQ! I'm sooooo excited for bullsnake babies and the potential rainbow of children that might come out!

She's a capensis, African Cape house snake  I'm not taking pictures of her yet so that she doesn't get stressed,  but here is her parents. I'll let her settle in for the week, i held her while adding her in,  and she's so soft and sweet! 🥰her name is Hissy Missy

Poor guy was getting attacked by a bird before slithering down my stairs and into my open basement door.

Little Visitor

Yay I finally got her humidity down below 60. I had to switch her enclosure to be more breathable. And also using a heat light even though they don't require it if you have a heat mat but it helps dry things out.  If it goes up again then at night when the light is off i may try a small fan upside down on the top in order to pull air out.

A beautiful eastern hognose caught during May of 2026.  

Story time: Several years back, this species was bountiful in a specific location my advisor used to go herping. Unfortunately, word got out of this spot and most were poached leading to this species not being seen for ~6 years at the location. Luckily, we were able to find 2 individuals this year! Genetic testing will soon be underway to estimate the size of the population and if inbreeding is prevalent.

Super looking forward to hatching my first visual lavender hognoses! The male also has a super cool, unique pattern that I hope the babies inherit.

What is your favourite type of snake?

I am so proud of this girl! I've had her for maybe almost two years now and she's almost ready to breed! I am super excited and she is just so healthy and strong and full of muscle 🤩🥰

I try really hard to make sure my animals have good muscle tone and body condition to avoid the growing problem of obesity in the reptile community. Nothing makes me happier than handling my snakes and feeling how strong they are (compared to an obese snake that sometimes has no muscle and is just... Like a floppy rope).
