This fly, which is clinging to the aerial roots of a plant, has two elongated structures on its sides (ascocarps), the result of an infection by some fungal specie of the genus Cordyceps.

Just like in The Last of Us, the fungus feeds on and controls its host, and position it in a spot that maximizes the chances of infecting more individuals.

The relationships between these organisms are truly fascinating 🧐.

My old flat used to overlook a dog park in Battersea and I'd watch the doggos being trained. 

It was always disappointing when the dog training went well.

But often it would quickly desolve into furry chaos, dogs jumping up, running around madly and barking their little hearts out. 

Am I bad preferring doggo chaos? 🤔
