to believe that is to believe that there is no such thing as true evil, because they are simply acting out of weakness or fear and if you could just remove those sources they too would be enlightened and kind.

not at all. people are selfish by nature and that's a good thing. because it created all the beauty and fun we see around us in society. it highlights most especially those that do things for others without expectation. without fear there is no bravery and the strongest people come from the weak who decide they won't be.

as to evil... every motivation is a road to cruelty and evil for someone. you could be tortured for decades because "i love you" or "i want what's best for you".
