Why is Hollywood messed up when it comes to proper Hispanic/Latine representation?

An individual actor's strengths and talents along with demand are separate things, but why is it that Hollywood seems to only think Mexicans are the only Hispanic people? But then fill roles of Mexican characters with people of different ethnicities/nationalities altogether? Am I the only person that doesn't enjoy or like this?

Random thoughts while preparing for a role

I'm preparing for an acting role while preparing for a storm. The vibe is very weird right now. I'm a method actor so things can definitely get interesting depending on the role, but this particular role feels oddly surreal. Iconic, but itchy and uncomfortable. It feels like a wool suit but I need to make it flow like silk. Maybe the storm will help. But knowing myself I'll probably go on some strange odyssey to get there anyway. Fall down a rabbit hole, play the role, climb out. It's an odd life sometimes. I love it though.
