Improvisation Community

Happy 100th birthday Sir David Attenborough

Attenborough at One Hundred, Watching a Weedy Seadragon One hundred years, and still the world can make him grin sideways. The weedy seadragon arrives dressed as seaweed that escaped taxonomy, all ribbons and false fronds, baroque camouflage with improbable hydrodynamics. It does… read more

I'm Khadijah who grew up in Manila, Philippines

In the end, the lives I live between pages are as real as any I have ever known. They are filled with sun, rain, spice, and salt; with laughter and sorrow, wisdom and folly. They are alive in me, and through me, they may touch the lives of others. Writing is the art of living beyond limits, the act… read more

What is your dream for an intentional community?

We recently went to buy something at an electronics-store. And both noticed how stale the air was, how lifeless the environment, the screens too crisp and sharp, and the people working there focused on selling things to a degree that felt alienating. So while I like parts of technology, I… read more

This is the famous front part of the Jurmala's concert venue.

It has been hosting the shows and concerts I grew up watching such as new wave and KVN. "КВН stands for Klub Veselykh i Nakhodchivykh, translated as the "Club of the Funny and Inventive". It is a long-running Soviet and Russian comedy television show and competitive game where teams of students or… read more

Hold onto hope...

🎷🌵 “Hold onto hope the way a cactus holds onto jazz—painful, prickly, yet undeniably smooth. The desert may stretch endlessly, the sun may scorch your dreams into mirages, but somewhere between the spines and the saxophone riffs lies the truth: resilience is improvisation. Every note is a needle,… read more

Mortal Kombat 3 Cast Idea

Kurtis Stryker could be brilliantly reimagined for Mortal Kombat 3 as a highly competent, mid-career Asian-American "Supercop" inspired by the fast, prop-heavy energy of classic action films. Rather than another stoic martial artist or chosen hero, he is a grounded, pragmatic family man whose… read more

A country to die for (2) the Tunisian winter

When I prepared my move from Switzerland to Tunisia, I worried about one thing only: summer. Heat. Forty degrees. Survival. I work from home, Tunisian houses stay cool, and worst case scenario there’s air conditioning. Plus: Tunisian summer nights are warm, alive, and forgiving. At 3 a.m. you can… read more

Feeling strange and not part of this world?

Thats because the world is a neverending theater and you part-take to the show. Nothing is what it seems and all is based on improvisation. Inadeguacy is in itself truth. Remember always that you are not the mask nor what the spectators see. Live and play yourself, do as you really feel and… (edited) read more

Comments Section

There are some things that we like to post to express ourselves. It takes courage to reveal parts of ourselves on an online platform, especially most of us have been shunned out by our own society (by which I mean mainly the closest to us whom we relied upon). Of course there will be internet… read more

Jazz is life

I was debating with a potential match the other day about jazz. She was getting a bit annoyed that I was such a jazz nut. “If we meet in person, will you talk about something besides jazz?” “Nope!” “Okay, but don’t you think jazz is a bit pretentious?” Holy smokes! That’s when I knew she’s not… read more
