This weekend, I went out with some friends and played soldier in a lovely forested lake property. It was a really fun time, and its always good to try out new tricks and techniques in my equipment and camping methods!

Is chain maille under rated?

When people think armour they think plate, but chain maille was pretty dam good and is even used in diving suits but doesn't come up very often. Is it because of spinal issues if worn too young? is plate just that much better? What do you think?

Evening socials

Once every reenacting event, we try to hold a mixer dance in the field between Northern and Southern military camps. Usually Contra. Its a nice moment for everyone to socialize a little more, especially with all the day's tasks are finally done.

A moment of pause

After reenacting in front line combat for 3 days, no support and down to our bayonets, I decided to take a photo... except i realized upon inspection that my smiling photo was not very smiley, and had to try again.
