Vortex shedding from a boundary layer

On a walk recently the river had gone down considerably. I was wondering at how clear the water was, when I noticed this boundary layer interaction with vortex shedding and mixing. Reminded me of my fluid dynamics days. Always take an opportunity to nerd out.
