Rest In Peace, Beautiful Girl 😥
She was one of the strays we took care of for a couple years—such a serene girl as well as a very loving, caring and attentive mother. She had 3 litters during the time she's been with us—all beautiful kittens, most of whom didn't make it very long. We buried about 3 of them from her second litter, the rest (presumably) passed away somewhere else. 2 of her little ones from her last litter are still here. She initially showed up with (another cat who looked exactly like her who we presumed to be) her mom until she disappeared. Poor girl had such a rough life but she stuck around because she trusted us as much as a cat who was born stray could. Even though she, of course, never trusted us enough to let us give her pets, I am damn honoured she made our yard her home and to have had her around for so long. Knowing she was sick, I checked outside when I got up and saw her laying with her paw up on a rock and her head off to the side. She looked so peaceful, but in such a way I'd never really seen her before, almost as though she was knew that in her final moments, it was time to reflect. Sadly, she was taken by the parvo illness that lingers around our house—the same illness that took many of her little ones. She was such a core and integral part of our crew—arguably the one who started it all—that it's going to feel so empty without her here with us.
