I try to make one-on-one time with my teenage daughter and we go on a weekly dinner date. We go to one of our favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. We'll usually get the same thing every time we talk about and things going on in our lives and she tells me a lot about school and her friends. We make ourselves relatable to each other. We joke around and share memes things like that. Just good one-on-one quality time. Sometimes. Afterwards you go back to my house and watch the latest episode of the independent shows that we're watching or play a video game for a little while before it's time for her to go back to Mom's.
