One thing I love about Moana,

Maui stole the heart from Te Fiti and Moana makes sure the heart is returned. So, A guy stole a heart from the woman away and she becomes very upset. Another woman makes sure that guy returns her heart and he has to apologizes to her. This is why feminism are very powerful!!

She had no choice, the islands were losing resources due to the goddess of life being transformed into the demon of earth and fire, cursing the land. Maui played a crucial role in guiding Moana which in return helped her lead her people back into traversing the seas in the end. Not only that, as a Demigod, he knows the location of Te Fiti/ Te Ka which helped immensely in restoring the heart because Moana would not be able to do it alone (they had to work as a team and overcome hardships together). In the end it was up to a human to restore humanity. There’s a lot more to it than forcing someone to apologize to an upset woman and feminism. I believe the message being portrayed is to not let past wrong doings define who you are and to follow your heart, being true to yourself.
