Top coat/seal? Classes or self taught?

What products do you guys use to seal in your artwork? Also debating taking a course to overcome a skill standstill unsure if I’ll start with a drawing class or straight to painting. How many of you all have taken a course vs self taught? No judgement either way! Just curious.
